CAMP conducts weekly workshops in performance for children ages 5 -13 in the After-School program sponsored by the Chicago Park District. The workshops focus on encouraging students to express themselves creatively through dance, music, poetry and acting. The goal of the workshop is to teach students an approach to performance unique to CAMP and to introduce them to expression through the medium of performance art. As CAMP grows, we hope to offer the community educational programs in the visual arts, theater, dance, and music. Ultimately, we hope to contribute our vision and knowledge to you, both enriching and challenging our community. |
| River Park CAMP Kids have had a busy fall and winter creating characters based on their ideas of what makes a hero super. They have developed movement phrases, learned to speak like their characters, and interacted with the other student's heroes. The kids are looking forward to the annual Gym Show, Friday March 31st. They will be performing pieces they create based on "Travels Around the World" theme chosen by the park, Students create pieces using the same techniques that Creative Arts Melting Pot uses in their own work. |
